My entry for the Robolucha custom show
I contacted VISEone the curator of this show months ago and asked him if I could be part of it. I sent some pics of my other custom vinyl toy work and waited. A few days later he said I was in! After a couple of weeks a box arrived at my door and inside was the robolucha vinyl for me to customize. I looked at it and held it in my hand for a while thinking about what I was going to do with it. Then it came to me I have to cut this guy in half stretch it and give me some room to work with. I love the result and it was many many hours of work. I am very excited because this is my first "gallery tour" and my first international shows. It is scheduled to make stops in Germany, France, the UK, and turkey. I am very humbled by all this and I am very proud to be in a show with such talented artists from all over the world.
I will include a post soon with the making of pics.
My robots at the Hive Gallery in Rockport MA
I had the pleasure of having a show at the Hive Gallery in Rockport Ma for the month of July. The Hive is the brain child of Jon Conant. An artist himself he assembled a diverse group of people to create this unique collective. These pictures are from opening night and included many of the Hive artists work. Check out their website www.thehivecapeann.com . They are always looking for local artists to raise the ranks. They are a friendly group drop them a line.
My entry for the Chuckwa custom skully show in Fullerton California
I took a vinyl skully and made this star wars inspired skully tie. It was heavy on sculpting which I love and was a combination of lots of different materials. It ran for a month back in June. It was a great show with dozens of great entries. You can find many of them on flickr. Just search Chuckwa custom skully show.
